How to remove the router from Google’s location-finder

Google has introduced a way to opt-out of having your wireless access point included in the Google Location Server. Go to the settings screen on your router and change the wireless network name (SSID) to something that ends with _nomap (without the quotes). For example, O2wireless_nomap.

More information about what the Google Location Server is and why Google is providing the option is available on Google’s official blog http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2011/11/greater-choice-for-wireless-access.html
